The gallerist Alex Maguy (1906-1999) showed in his exhibition, announced by Picasso's poster, a work by Picasso, Chagall,  Braque, Renoir, Monet, Degas and Dufy. These are "seven artists indisputables" (sept maitres indiscutables) "to the glory of the creative spirit"  (à la gloire de l'esprit créateur) - so mentioned in the catalogue of the exhibition.
