The poster was printed at first in the year 1954 for the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm with the title "Willkommen beim Berliner Ensemble am Schiffbauerdamm", since 1963 in the same printing technique on the same thin paper and in the same size with the title:  "Willkommen beim Berliner Ensemble am Bertolt-Brecht-Platz".




Helene Weigel, director of the Berliner Ensemble am Schiffbauerdamm, wrote to Picasso about this attractive poster in the letter from 15th of May 1954,
